We set off in the car after I searched online for any Christmas Tree farms that were open on Monday AND had cut your own tree options. There were 2 choices: one about 1.5 hours away in NJ or one 35 minutes away in Hudson Valley NY(aka near a winery). So it didn’t take me a long time to decide which one to go to! I highly recommend the farm we went to: Manza Family Farm. I’m sure it’s way more crowded on the weekends as they have lots of activities like hay rides and little wooden trains for the kids to ride in. We were 1 of 3 people getting trees that day. We tried to cut our own, however all the trees in the field were too small so we let them be until next year. It was a fun and relaxing day away from the house just having fun, no real plan(except to get a tree, oh and drink some wine!).
Best of all we spent time together, not working! We so needed this.
This little one on the right was even smaller than the apartment sized trees we would see in Hoboken:)
Such a gorgeous day out!
Oh and to our surprise they had a petting zoo with one of Santa’s Reindeer!
This is the tree we selected!
You can see Chris holding the one we got on the right, and the too small ones in the field on the left.
We stopped for lunch at a bar in town- the stained glass reminded me of 44’s in Syracuse!
One last stop at Brotherhood Winery– which is about 30 minutes from our house! We may have to make more trips here since it’s so close:)
I’ve been loving our little day trips:) Hope we keep it up in the new year!
