Buenos Aires Part I

I know I haven’t posted in a while but with vacation and Thanksgiving this week I haven’t even been home.  Finally have some time today to sort through the vacation photos- man did I take A LOT of photos.  Where to begin?  We went with our very good friends Kevin and Neda(who will make a lot of appearances in the photos).  The flight to Buenos Aires  was not so bad.  Even though it was 11 hours long you only change 1 time zone so it feels like “real time”.  On our first day we stayed out till 1am.  Everyone in BA eats late and stays out even later.  These new few shots were taken at a roof top restaurant over looking a square that had live music with people dancing and just enjoying life.

This is one of my favorite photos from the trip of Kevin and Neda!

The 2nd day we went to a flee market where they had live music, people dressed up and lots of things to buy.  We actually bought most of our souvenirs there.  I purchased a watercolor painting & a photo of tango dancers feet- a very cool montage of 4 different dancing couples feet in motion.  These buildings surrounding the square were beautiful.

We picked up some cheese and sausage from a guy selling them out of a basket on the street.  Of course we had to have wine as well.  We ate this in the backyard at Posada Palermo– a fabulous B&B with such great hosts!

This was taken outside a bar waiting for a table for the restaurant next door.  It’s taken at a very low shutter speed so the bartender looks blurry.  Love the colors in this one though-especially the red door.

Day 3 was spent walking, walking and more walking.

I loved the Recoleta Cemetary- very beautiful.  Eva Peron is buried here.

And we ended the long day with Empanadas at El Cuartito recommended by Anthony Bourdain– can’t go wrong there!  Yum:)  Just about the best we had on the trip!
