I met Kate (or Katie as I still call her!) way back when we were both at SU- my senior year and her sophomore year. We had the same major, Surface Pattern Design, and since our major was small and we shared studio space to work on projects (before the invention of computers- ha- just kinda kidding here) we all knew each other and worked together since we had large paintings and lots of supplies and stayed up late at studio to hang out. Sounds fun, right? Sometimes someone would bring a 6-pack to studio which made it more fun! Fast forward to spring semester and she decided to rush and join the sorority I was in. AXO. Yes I am a sorority girl if you didn’t know:) She was my sorority “daughter” or “little sister” as they are now known. We had lots of fun that last semester I was there and 2 years later she moved to Hoboken just around the block from me.
Hoboken treated us well but I moved to a house with a garage and lots more storage and Kate moved to California. We still talk when we can and email all the time. Chris and I just visited her in March and she just came home to the east coast to visit her family for 2 weeks with her boyfriend Jeff, whom I didn’t get the chance to meet while we were out there. Her parents own a farm out west of Scranton PA. Perfect photo op! Farm + boy/girl + nice weather + plaid shirts = fun images that I loved creating! We had lots of laughs and Jeff may think I’m weird for making them climb into a tub, but hey it works. I am weird. These images are so fun and real- I just love them!
Enjoy Kate and Jeff and hope to see you both sooner rather than later- miss you already.
I love that Jeff makes her smile and laugh:
They have chickens and cows too!
