Last Monday we didn’t have internet at home so I couldn’t make the instagram collage that I make every week for these posts.
So over the past 2 weeks I:
- Gathered all our candles, matches and flashlights to hurricane prep
- Listened as a large tree fell about 3 feet away from our house- not something that you ever want to hear!
- Lost power and internet from the Hurricane but it could have been so much worse
- Played many games of Crazy 8’s with Chris by candlelight
- Used the backpack leaf blower for the first time- I had to keep warm somehow! It was a great workout as well. 🙂
- Grilled up steaks every other night when we were without power- those Anniversary gifts came in handy during the power outage!
- Photographed a wedding at The Madison Hotel- ironically I was there shooting Denise and Josh’s wedding the night of Hurricane Irene. I think it’s safe to say if you are getting married at the Madison Hotel don’t hire me because there will most likely be a hurricane! Ha- just kidding, kinda. 🙂
- Organized the Tupperware cabinet- fun times I know!
- Had lots of romantic candlelight dinners with Chris- thankfully we have a grill, a generator keeping the fridge cold and a gas stove so we could cook.
- Helped out a fellow photographer when his assistant couldn’t make it to Florentine Gardens due to the gasoline shortage. Luckily I listened to my Mom and filled up on gas the Sunday before the hurricane and didn’t drive anywhere. Thanks Mom!
- Had our window broken by the men who came to cut down the tree…
- Photographed 2 family sessions and one cute little girl so there will be lots of sneak peeks coming up this week. Stay tuned.
- Photographed a Macedonian wedding- there was so much music surrounding all their traditions – it was fantastic!
